Client | Embodhi Psychology

When it came to establishing her psychology practice, one of the things Rachael was struggling with the most was her website. Even though Squarespace is one of the most user friendly options out there for DIY websites - it still has a huge learning curve. And for the non-techy peeps at heart, who spent their years focusing on studying (rather than playing around with websites like me), it can feel like an almost impossible thing to conquer.

Domains? Hosting? Custom emails? What do you even put on a website?!

That’s where I stepped in 😎.

Design Brief

BRAND STYLE GUIDE

The most important aspect of the project was her logo and carrying the intention behind the logo design, throughout her whole website.

Here’s the story behind Rachael’s logo:

It a lotus flower + a Phoenix rising, symbolising growth through adversity, difficult times, endings, hope, renewal + “rebirth”.

A lotus flower grows with its roots submerged in the mud and is symbolic of traumatic + adverse life experiences, and
just as a Phoenix rises from the ashes, so too can we after challenges, trauma, pain + loss.

Rachael embodhi’s a holistic approach to therapy. She believes words do not teach, actions do. Therefore, Rachael supports clients to connect with their psyche (mind), soma (physical), heart (feelings) + to embodhi themself to become their own healing agent.

TaRGET AUDIENCE

Rachael’s target audience consists of adults who need help with a wide variety of mental health issues. Her special interest is in helping people develop a deeper understanding of how their early experiences; trauma, abuse, neglect + unmet needs have had a role in shaping their personality, beliefs, values, emotions, behaviours + coping styles, and how these things have impacted your relationships (with yourself + others), day-to-day life, and your capacity to cope.

Her clients are often experiencing a lot of overwhelm, so it was important to keep the website simple, yet also convey her warm + friendly personality.

Here’s what Rachael has to say…

“I was worried about working with a website designer who might not understand my vision and how important it is for my website to reflect me on both a professional and personal level. But it didn’t happen, you made me feel very seen & understood, and she was able to help me incorporate elements I would otherwise not have considered. I loved working with you and the kind, patient, receptive & intuitive way you understood me & my business needs, I admire the way your creative mind works! My new website is perfect, from the colour scheme to the practical, organised display, the room for pictures and ability to make changes by myself if/as needed. It makes me feel so professional and open to receive clients to my space.”
